Introduction to the Lethal Gaming Gear Mousepads

Lethal Gaming Gear (LGG) is one of the more reputable names in the gaming world, specializing in various peripherals. Founded in 2019, LGG has ballooned into one of the most significant suppliers of gaming equipment globally, focusing on mousepads, gaming mice, and mechanical keyboards.

They're noted for their innovations like being the first to use 3D printed strain reliefs for cables, and their passion for enthusiast-first peripherals.

Quality

The Lethal Gaming Gear mousepads are some of the best when it comes to the quality that comes with their pads.

Like you would find on other Pro/High End mousepads the LGG pads feature a SlimFlex (formally Poron) base. So the chances of these pads moving around your desk while you are gaming is very slim.

Stitching on these pads are pretty much perfect. Really thin and minimal and are under the surface which is especially noticeable on the XSOFT and SOFT variants. Issues with the stitching such as fraying shouldn't be an issue overtime just because of how well it is constructed.

Base Firmness

Just like the very popular Artisan mousepads the Lethal Gaming Gear pads come in three different base hardness

- XSOFT
- SOFT
- FIRM

Each of these softness's change the way the mousepad feel mostly in certain situations.

XSOFT is going to provide the most plush and soft experience that allows you to push your mouse into the surface to get more friction and control.

SOFT is right in the middle and a great middle ground for most people, it still has that plush and soft experience but at a slightly firmer level. Not going to be as hard and firm as the FIRM option and not as squishy and plush like the XSOFT option.

FIRM is the hardest option and also provides zero give to the surface at all. Perfect for someone that want's a faster pad of the same surface type. Or you are someone that is heavy handed and pushes into their pad without acknowledging it causing inconsistencies in their aim.

Take a pad like the Saturn Pro, all three of the different base firmness options give the pad it's own level of speed: FIRM > SOFT > XSOFT

Surfaces

Currently LGG offers three different surfaces for their pro lineup of pads.

- Saturn
- Jupiter V2
- Neptune
- Hyperion

With each of them offering a different and unique feel and speed.

Saturn

This is a pad that almost everyone in the peripheral community recognizes. As it's pretty much at this point a staple when we are talking about control mousepads.

This is a control pad that is slow but not so slow that it falls into the mud category.

Tracking with this mousepad feels controlled but not so much that is feels like you are fighting against the mousepad.

Combining that with the excellent stopping power it makes for a mousepad that is quite versatile for a variety of games.

Jupiter V2

The Jupiter V2 is the slowest surface Lethal provides. Even "slow" is an understatement for this pad and calling this a mud like pad is a better fitting term for it especially with the XSOFT base firmness.

The surface feel of this pad is super unique. Featuring a very buttery smooth texture that a lot of people that enjoy comfortable mousepads will enjoy.

This is a pad that gives you a super locked in feeling, everything from swiping your mouse across it to stopping on a target feels very slow and controlled. In total making this a perfect mousepad for tac-shooters.

Neptune

The Neptune is currently the fastest surface Lethal provides in their Pro lineup.

The surface of this pad is really smooth with a harder almost plastic feeling textile but overall a really comfortable pad to use for long periods of time.

Really minimal friction when it comes to the static and dynamic friction making it pretty fast which is going to be perfect for games such as Apex and Overwatch, games with a lot of emphasis on tracking and switching to different targets quickly.

While this is a pretty fast mousepad that is labeled as a speed mousepad, the Neptune has a hint of control making the stopping power pretty good. Depending on what softness you opt for this can vary. But make no mistake, this pad definitely has the word speed in mind.

Neptune is a real good option for someone that wants a speed pad but still wants that feeling of having some sort of control behind their mouse unlike some other speed focused mousepads on the market that disregarded having this property. Neptune as a product really shows that LGG as a company really has the enthusiast in mind. The design and engineering of their recent pads show that they understand the exact properties required behind different pads, rather than filling out the blanks and gaps on a speed scale.

We recommend full size skates for the best experience on the Neptune.

Hyperion

The most recent release from the LGG lineup is the Hyperion and it's fast becoming one of our favorite. In short, the Hyperion performs like a Neptune that appeal to a wider range of audience and game type. Hyperion is a tad slower than the Neptune but with the same smooth glide. This might sound like a very minor difference but we feel that as a product, this makes the Hyperion more unique than expected vs what's out there on the market.

Hyperion reminds us of what the Saturn achieved when it first hit the market - manages to stand out from the rest of the crowd despite having very similar sounding characteristics.

We took the Hyperion to sweaty OW2 ranked lobbies and found the Hyperion to do very well across the board. While we liked the Neptune, we did find that the Hyperion to be much tolerable with a wider range of skates, from dots to full sized Corepads. Neptune provided bare minimum feedback picked up from full sized skates, which was a great property to have for a speed enthusiasts. Hyperion on the other hand, has a consistent smooth glide with very balanced friction, which in our opinion makes it a more friendly entry point into the LGG lineup.

In summary, Lethal Gaming Gear offers a diverse range of high-quality mousepads tailored to meet the specific needs of gamers.

Whether you need control, speed, or a balance of both, LGG's mousepads provide options that cater to various gaming preferences and play styles, ensuring you have the perfect surface for every game.

Their commitment to quality, innovation, and the gaming community's needs solidifies their position as a top choice for gamers around the world.
