Best Mousepads for Valorant
Share
So you are looking for a new mousepad for your favorite game, Valorant.
With a lot of options on the market it might be super confusing for someone that wants to pick up their first quality mousepad.
In my opinion there are a couple different pads I can highly recommend to someone that mainly plays tac shooters such as Valorant that will cover a range of price points, as I know some of the mousepads can reach that premium price tag.
Starting off with the Lethal Gaming Gear Saturn series as in my opinion this one of the best control mousepads on the market that you can currently buy.
Lethal Gaming Gear offers the pad in two different variants the Pro and Standard/Non-Pro.
The standard Saturn comes in two colors, black and red. And comes in four sizes, 490x420mm, 500x500mm, 1000x500mm and 1200x550. So there is a size for pretty much everyone.
The 490x420 currently is on sale for only $10 USD/$15 CAD which in my opinion is an absolutely insane price for a pad of it’s class. With the Saturn Pro being more expensive starting off at $40 USD/$57 CAD.
For the price of the Standard model you are getting a true control pad with the same surface as the Saturn Pro with a harder base with quality that is decent but doesn’t really compare to the Saturn Pro.
Main difference between the Standard and the Pro is that you are getting a Japanese Rubber Foam Base on the Standard instead of the very popular Poron base. You are also stuck with only one level of firmness as well on the Standard model, it is a firmer base falling in-between a soft and mid and leaning towards the harder side of things. With the Pro model you have the option to choose between three different levels of hardness, xsoft, soft, mid. Stitching on the Pro is also slightly better when compared to the Standard but it isn’t something I can really complain about.
The Saturn is a mousepad that falls between the balanced to control category but leaning closer to the controlled side of things. Has the slightest amount of texture to the surface that doesn’t abrasive and you usually forgot about after a day or two of using the pad. Depending on what pad or softness you decide to purchase the pad can feel different. The Standard Saturn with its firmer Japanese Rubber Base feels a bit faster than a Saturn Pro with an Xsoft base. While the xsoft variant can feel slower and more controlled because of the softer base.
Overall the Saturn is an excellent pick for someone that want’s to pick up their first high quality mousepad. Great surface that while is controlled it doesn’t overally feel slow and muddy. Perfect for Valorant as you have that nice sense of control but still enough speed for faster flicks and micro corrections.
Another great option that I want to say I can only recommend for Tac Shooters like Valorant is also from Lethal Gaming Gear and that’s the Jupiter Pro V2. This is there latest release and it comes in three sizes, 490x420mm, 500x500mm and 1000x500mm. Pricing starts off at $40 USD/$57 CAD for the smallest size. You are only getting the one color option which isn’t black but a darker grey, pretty unique color way that I really enjoy. With the Jupiter Pro you are also getting the option of three different levels of firmness for the base. Just like the Saturn pro you have the options of, Xsoft, Soft and Firm. Just like all the other Pro pads that Lethal Gaming Gear makes you are getting a Poron base and excellent quality all around the pad.
When I say I only recommend this mousepad for tac shooters I really mean it. As this is one of the slowest mousepads I have ever tried even after trying close to 40+ mousepads. One word to describe this mousepad is the word, mud. Extremely slow and locked in feeling that feels like you are swiping your mouse through mud or using your mouse underwater just because of how much friction and tug the surface is giving you. Also one of the more comfortable pads with a smooth and soft surface.
Perfect pad for Valorant and that’s pretty much it with the amount of control you are getting from this pad.
Last up is the Tang Dao SR from Esptiger. With this mousepad you are a bit more limited as it only comes in one size and you don’t have the option to choose the firmness of the base either. But you do have the option of three different colors, Purple, Blue and Orange. Overall quality of the mousepad is decent but doesn’t really compare to something like the Pro pads from Lethal Gaming Gear but this pad also costs less coming in at $35 USD/$50 CAD
Overall this is just a good basic mousepad that does everything right without any flashy features. Stitching is good and is under the surface so you won’t feel the stitching at all when gaming on this mousepad. The base of this mousepad is the SR base which feels pretty close to a rubber base but softer and more grippy. The firmness of the base of the pad falls between a soft and hard.
Where this mousepad really shines and which is the most important part of any mousepad and that would be the surface. The surface is a abrasive and feels like very soft sandpaper but not so harsh that it’s peeling away at your skin. It has a faster but yet still very controllable surface. Would call it a balanced pad with more emphasize on speed. Depending on what kind of skates you pair with this mousepad you are looking at a surface that gives you fast and effortless micro corrections with a faster glide for tracking but still giving you enough control that you can stop on a dime easily. Defiantly a pad for someone that plays Valorant and wants a faster mouse but not so fast that they lose control of their mouse.
Lot’s of great options out on the market but in my opinion these three mousepads really shine when it comes to Tac Shooters like Valorant. With each pad giving you a different feel and experience that should fit into your personal preference.
