Xraypads Huge Library

Xraypad is a brand that has quite a following within the peripheral community.

First gaining popularity with their mousepads, which provided special textures and levels of control not really common in the market, they are now more known for their own aftermarket skates, which many recommend for their smooth glide and durability.

Xraypad also happens to be among those few companies that offer a service—printing of any custom images on most of its popular products—and is thus definitely the favorite for both gamers and content creators interested in personalizing their setup.

The two pads everybody can recognize from Xraypad are the Aqua Control 2 and the Aqua Control Plus.

Aqua Control 2: For those who want speed yet don't want to give up control, this pad features a surface that allows for fast and responsive movement with a 'floaty' feel, making micro-adjustments but still keeping the stable, locked-in sensation for consistent tracking of the game—perfect for games that demand fast mouse movements, such as FPS titles.

Aqua Control Plus: Those seeking even more control, this pad is no slouch in the speed department. It caters to gamers seeking precise control over cursor movement, offering a bit more resistance than the Aqua Control 2, which results in less 'floaty' yet still agile experiences.

For someone that wants something a bit more controlled there is the Aqua Control Zero: The Aqua Control Zero is designed for those who prefer a slower, more controlled mousepad. It's particularly suited for games like CS:GO or Valorant, where precision is key over speed.

The surface of the Aqua Control Zero is made from a rougher Amundsen fabric which provides high stopping power and a stable tracking experience. This pad isn't about speed; it's about control, allowing gamers to flick with precision but with less of the swift glide found in other Aqua Control series pads. The slower nature of the pad can significantly benefit players who need to make smaller, more deliberate movements, ensuring that every flick or adjustment is intentional and accurate.

The Aqua Control Plus V2 is another more recent product of Xraypad.

On the surface, it is the same as the Aqua Control Plus, but the overall feel is somewhat different, mainly because the base of the mousepad is much softer. With the V2, that softer base has brought another dimension—greatly increasing grip and comfort. In so doing, the whole user experience is subtly shifted: increasing friction between mouse and pad for much better control while preserving a very comfy, non-jarring movement.

The plushness of the base just adds to that comfort, especially for marathon gaming sessions.

The classic Aqua Control Plus has a harder feel; the V2 has a softer base, making it more plush. This does make it grippier. In fact, for me, it was one of the grippiest bases not made with Poron or some unique material out there.

These changes, while small, go a long way to make a mousepad that feels more in control due to the added friction from the softer base; it also makes the pad feel more comfortable and less harsh.

The Origin Cerberus in Soft is probably, to my mind, the best pad that I have tried from Xraypad. From the quality to the surface texture, everything is really solid, showing some of the best from Xraypad to date. The artwork on this mousepad is also super refreshing, straying away from many of the other designs commonly seen on mousepads.

The surface of this mousepad is very soft with virtually no texture, and combined with the soft base, it makes for a really comfortable mousepad.

Stitching on this pad is also done well, and the base of this pad is VERY grippy, very much like their version of a Poron base but with a softer, stickier feel to it. On some skates, this pad feels balanced but favoring speed. It has a nice, quick feel while still offering a decent amount of control; combining that with the softer base, one can get even more control by pushing into the base of the mouse pad.

All in all, a very well-rounded pad that I can see a variety of gamers enjoying, providing the speed needed while still maintaining a good sense of control.

A pretty recent release from Xraypad is the Heavy Bee Series of mousepads. This pad feels very different due to its hexagon pattern, which is both visible and tactile. On the control version I have, the surface provides a very nice, fast yet controlled experience.

The feel of the hexagon pattern can change quite a bit depending on which skates are used with the mousepad. That said, when using skin, the texture is not even noticed. Compared to full-size skates, the dot skates made this pad feel slower due to the interaction of the hexagon pattern with the dot skates.

This interaction can be subtle or very pronounced, changing the gaming experience based on user preference. Stitching on this pad is also very well done, and the base is extremely sticky. I could see many tactical shooter players, like Valorant, picking this up due to its controlled nature.

This is also a pad that comes in a design that some anime lovers will love. The pad comes in two versions a more controlled version and a faster version due to the differences in base softnesses.

One of the more underrated pads, simply because it's a bit older now, but still worth a mention for its good performance, is the Traigun. All in all, this is a rather basic pad that is starting to show its age in the quality department—thick stitching and a rubber base. Where this pad really shines, though, is the surface: it's extremely fast with next to no forgiveness when it comes to control—none at all. This would make it a tough call for the person who wants to really test his mouse controlling skills and is often times used by professional gamers preferring to use less help from equipment.

From high-speed to full controlled and even aesthetically customizable ones, Xraypad proves itself as a very adaptive brand within the gaming peripherals space, having products for every preference there is. Whether casual player or competitive gamer, at Xraypad, they never cease in the devotion to quality and innovation; hence, a mousepad exists for just about any desk and type of play. Their commitment to changing their product line while keeping high standards means they can be expected to be a continuing presence in the gaming world for years to come.
