Ghostglides - Dreams Turned Masterpiece

Ghostglides - Dreams Turned Masterpiece

Ghostglides, a brand that has been increasing in popularity with each new release they’ve dropped since they first started a couple years ago.

The brand was founded back in 2019 by a couple of esports professionals with a couple years under their belt, with the mission to blend esports with artwork and in our opinion doing a really job with that. They have been promoting that mission with each of their products ranging from skates to mousepads, as well as merch such as hoodies.

Here with me I have two mousepads from Ghostglides, the new Masterpiece pad and the Dream mousepad.

The dream comes in at a size of 490x420mm and the Masterpiece comes in at a larger size of 500x500mm.

The Dream features a pretty cool monochrome design with an anime art style but it still stands out from all of the other anime-esque mousepads we have seen released in our opinion. The print of the design on the mousepad is done well by looking really sharp.

While the Masterpiece features a minimal text print with the main focus being at the center of the mousepad with some subtle but tasteful branding at the bottom. With the “Not Another Anime Pad” text on the mouse pad taking a playful jab at themselves as well as the other anime focused mousepad releases.

Over the past year the amount of anime mousepads that have been released has reached a point that it's starting to feel pretty excessive and boring and Ghostglides see that issue as well. With some of these mousepads being inappropriate/provocative or just some design that was made by an AI in a couple of minutes.

Quality on both of these pads are really good like you would expect with any mousepad that has launched in the last year or so.

Both of the pads feature clean and tight stitching that is level to the surfaces of the surface of the pad so feeling the stitching while in game isn’t an issue whatsoever and overall feels really sturdy.

Both of the mousepads feature a SlimFlex base (formely known as Poron), the same type of surface you would find on mousepads that are made by brands like Artisan or Lethal Gaming Gear.

Combining that with the softer base these pads feature, these pads won’t move around your desk when doing some heavy gaming.

As for the surfaces of these mousepads they feel nothing alike. The surface on the Dream mousepad has a slightly abrasive hybrid surface while the surface on the Masterpiece features a smooth spandex like surface.

The Dream mousepad features a hybrid surface that feels subtly abrasive, somewhat a like to fine sandpaper but much smoother. In terms of speed it falls in the medium/balanced category, it’s not too fast or too slow. Going to be perfect for people that want a scene of control without feeling like the mousepad is tugging them down.

On the other hand the Masterpiece has a very smooth, spandex feeling surface. One of the more comfortable mousepads in our opinion. Ghostglides markets the mousepad as a speed pad that is pretty spot on. It is one of the faster mousepads I have tried but not so fast that it feels hard to have sense of control with it. Best way to explain this mousepad in a single sentence is, balanced speed pad that is super comfortable to game on. With the being said this is another mousepad that is going to be great for Valorant especially for those that prefer to use a faster mousepad.

The type of skates that you use matter quite a ton on the Masterpiece. Slower skates like Corepads makes the pad still feel quite quick but with more control when compared to skates like the Jade’s or Tiger Ice.

Overall Ghostglides have been doing a lot of things right and the outcome of that is a community that stands by them and is hyped for every release they tease or drop. Can’t wait to see that else they release this year as these mousepads have been great!
